Greenhouses Botanical Garden
What to do in Paris this weekend? Couples, families or solo, I invite you to discover the greenhouses of Paris. At the heart of Garden plants, four large halls are home to a unique plant collection. It’s like, the time of a visit in the middle of the rainforest. A truly magical place that I highly recommend!
Already, the architecture alone is worth a look. Metal and glass, these greenhouses were built in the 1830s, at a time when metal architecture takes off. In Paris, it is in this first half of the nineteenth century that also builds the bridge of the arts, the Sainte-Geneviève library or the Halles Baltard. These new greenhouses (the largest in the world then) replace older buildings. In the eighteenth century, it was the royal greenhouses where the plants were kept as naturalists brought back from their travels around the world.
You will always impressed by the green tropical forest canopy and 15 meters high. The atmosphere is warm and wet from bananas, cocoa and palm trees. We are in full jungle! Then change of scenery with amazing green deserts. Very interesting to see the wiles of some species to protect against drought.
